Innisfree is a village in the County of Minburn No. 27, tucked on the side of a ridge just north of the Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16), about 145 km east of Edmonton and 52 km west of Vermilion. Sometimes called "the Hidden Village" because of its ridge-side setting, Innisfree has a village population of around 220 alongside a wider rural district of about 1,250 people. Its economy runs on grain and livestock farming along with oil and gas activity, and the village marked its 100-year anniversary as a proud, historic prairie community.
